West Norfolk’s Rebecca has the golden touch

Rebecca Johnson had the golden touch at the Norfolk Indoor County Athletics Championships on Sunday.Alive Lynnsport was the venue for the meeting, which formed part of the Keith Ward Indoor Open meeting, hosted by West Norfolk AC.West Norfolk athletes also turned out some fabulous performances with Johnson leading the way.Johnson (U15G) scooped gold in the 60m flat in 8.35sec after recording 8.37sec in the qualifying heat earlier.She also took gold in the 60m hurdles in 9.28 seconds, equalling her best performance.Alfie Williams won the senior men’s shot with 13.86m in what was his first throw of the season.Charlie Broad (U17m) was first in the shot put with an 11.50m PB and finished second in the long jump with a 5.33m leap.Alfie Bone (U17m) won gold in the high jump with 1.65m to equal his PB.Amelia Barton (SnrW), won gold in the 60M flat in 8.56sec.Lucy Edwards jumped 4.43m for gold in the senior women’s long jump and took silver in the 60m flat race with a PB of 8.9sec.Elly Jackson (U13G) won gold in the high jump with 1.27m (PB) and took bronze in the long jump with 3.50m (PB).Cameron Ross (F20/T20 Snr) was first in the 60m final with 8.65secs and jumped 4.12m in the long jump for third in the Keith Ward but winning a county silver.Thomas Collison (M40 Snr), threw 6.77m in the shot for a county silver and bronze in the Keith Ward.Isla Jackson (U15G) bagged silver in the triple jump with 8.87m (PB), and bronze in the long jump with 3.83m (PB).Lily Edwards: (F20/T20 SnrW) jumped 1.89m leap for bronze in the long jump and followed it up with another bronze after throwing 4.26m (SenW) in the shot.Myley Gilboy (U15G) took bronze in the shot with 5.03m and was fifth in the 60m flat final in 9.04sec.She was fourth in the heat with 8.97sec, equalling her PB.Oliver Anderson (U11B) took bronze with 10.83sec in the 60m flat (PB).Sofia Gilboy (U11G) jumped 2.82m for bronze in the long jump and was sixth in the 60m flat final in 10.57sec (PB).Miller Crane (U13B) was third in his age group with a 9.41sec run in the 60m flat (PB).Dani Wathan (U15G) was fourth in the long jump with 3.08m and was fourth in the second heat of 60m flat in 10.36sec.Herbie Gray (U17m) jumped a PB pf 4.73m in the long jump for fifth.Emma Theobald (U17G) was sixth in the 60m flat in 9.35sec.Lily Frammingham, (U20w) was fourth in the long jump with 4.15m and clocked 8.89sec in the 60m for fifth (PB).Big thanks goes out to the numerous officials, and volunteers from the club, area, and beyond.Thanks to West Norfolk’s very own Paul Bailey and to the results team and also to MG Building Maintenance for the sponsorship of the Keith Ward medals.
