West Norfolk youngsters participate in Quicksticks Festival

Eighteen school teams took part in the School Sports Partnership Quicksticks tournament for Year 5/6 pupils last week.The event was hosted at Pelicans Hockey Club and all matches were umpired by Young Hockey Leaders from the club who did a professional job.Senior members of the club also provided support with the scoring and refreshments.Following group matches teams then had knockout games to determine the eventual placings.Congratulations go to Dersingham Primary who were overall winners, narrowly defeating Glebe House in the final on a golden goal while St Martha’s were third and Gayton fourth.Other schools competing were: Terrington Tigers, South Wootton, Sandringham Sharks, Hillcrest Cubs, Hillcrest Bears, Snettisham, Howard Junior, Ashwicken, Fairstead, Terrington Tornados, Sandringham Steelers, North Wootton Demons, North Wootton Dragons and Flitcham.The top teams will now progress onto a county final, which again will be hosted by Pelicans.
