West Norfolk Civic racer Phil Wright was back in action for the opening four rounds of the Racing Hondas Championship last weekend at Trac Mon in Anglesey.Competing in class A, Wright secured third in qualifying just seven-tenths of a second behind the pole position runner.Lining up for race one in beautiful Anglesey sunshine, Wright pulled away from the lights and got a good start. He kept pace with the second-place racer of Collins in the number 6 Integra and held his position until the chequered flag.In race two, he lined up alongside the No 224 car of Allen. Wright again made a good start and held the position until lap eight when he slipped past and through into second place. At the start of the following lap, Wright lost power as he crossed the line and while turning into the right-hander second corner a suspect gasket failed, forcing him to pull out of the race resulting in a disappointing did-not-finish. With qualifying for round three not due to start until 12.30 pm the next day, Wright loaded up the stricken Civic and headed home to change the necessary parts. But as he crossed the Britannia Bridge, he received the news that qualifying had been changed to 10.20am the next morning, leaving too little time to complete the repairs. Wright competes next this Bank Holiday Monday at Modified Live, which takes place at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.Wright is supported By Luke Loades of Rounce and Evans Property Management and Jordan Cribb of Vertex Architecture. Thanks also go to PBS Brakes, Selina Automotive, AllSigns, One Day Motorsport, Van Works and Darren Heffer Builders
