Snettisham-based motorbike racer Callum Manley was out in action last weekend competing at his home track of Snetterton with the British Motorcycle Racing Club.Saturday morning and first up was qualifying, Manley set out on his Kawasaki ZX10R attempting to put a time on the board that would place him near the front of the grid. However not even a lap in and Manley’s gear selector broke forcing him to pull out of qualifying.Having not set a time Manley had to line his machine in P28 for the first race, as the lights went out a great launch saw him make his way through the field and up to eighth place by the third turn. But in an attempt to make a late overtake Manley braked a little too late for turn four and ran onto the grass, as the rest of the field went past him and continued with the race Manley rejoined once again at the back of the pack.Manley put in some very strong laps for the remaining four laps and managed to fight his way back to achieve a second in class. There were three races due to take place on Sunday and having to put in some good lap times the day before Manley lined his machine up in ninth. He continued to be strong during this race and went on to claim victory in the Clubman. Manley started seventh on the grid for race three, battling with another local rider Peter Baker. Some very good battles and overtakes ensued in this race with Baker taking Manley on the last lap, Manley finished first in class. The final race of the weekend and Manley was feeling strong, he executed lines and breaking markers with precision to bring his bike home first in class once again and also set a PB around the track.Manley is currently sponsored by Bec’s Sweets, Harrison Music, N.K. Bateman Mainlaying, All in Supplements and AVWUK. He will next be out in action on May 25 and 26 at Cadwell Park.Keep up to date with all his racing @manley_racing on Instagram.
