King’s Lynn Speedway has moved quickly to clarify the position regarding club No.1 Tobiasz Musielak as they head into their next set of Rowe Motor Oil Premiership fixtures.Following discussions with the Speedway Control Bureau, the Stars have been given a 28-day facility for Musielak, starting from the date of the next meeting he misses.Musielak crashed out of the PSH Environmental Stars’ win over Birmingham in early May, with the main concern at the time being a broken collarbone. He also suffered an ankle injury, the extent of which was not fully apparent at that stage, but which was subsequently confirmed as damage to two ankle ligaments. His initial comeback meeting in Poland saw him unable to complete his rides, and whilst he did take five outings in Ostrow’s win over Lodz on Friday, scoring 8+2, he was still in a great deal of pain and was struggling to put weight on his left ankle.A statement released by the Stars a short while ago said: “After discussions with Tobiasz and his manager, it has been decided that given the more technical nature of the British tracks and the difficulties he is still experiencing, the only solution is for him to take a break from the sport in the UK until he is fully fit.”We appreciate that this is not an ideal situation especially given that he will still be riding in Poland, but it is clear that he needs to operate at a reduced schedule for the immediate future. “We have therefore spoken to Neil Vatcher at the Speedway Control Bureau who has been understanding and helpful, and it has been confirmed that King’s Lynn will receive a 28-day facility for Tobiasz, starting from the date of the next meeting he misses. “This will allow him to reduce his riding schedule, receive further treatment and hopefully be in a far stronger position by early July.”We must stress that Tobiasz wants to return to the UK, we want him to return to the team, and this solution protects the club in that we can source guests of an appropriate standard for the upcoming fixtures, and it protects the rider who will receive the time he needs to heal.”We can confirm Tom Brennan has been booked to guest at No.1 in our trip to Leicester on Thursday, and Richard Lawson will again step in for the home match with Oxford next Monday (June 17). “Once the 28 days has been activated, Tobiasz will not be eligible to return until the expiry of those 28 days.”We are aware of the conspiracy theories which are surfacing, and we felt it was important to lay out the facts as they exist. “We hope Tobiasz can regain full fitness over the coming weeks, so we can see him back in the team later next month.”The Stars are next in action at the Leicester Lions on Thursday night before hosting the Oxford Spires at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday night.
