Keegan Sampson was in great form in the 2L stock cars at Lynn on Sunday.Sampson produced one of the best drives he has done around Saddlebow Road en route to a fine third-place finish in the meeting final. He was also the first non-star grade driver home with only London’s Will Morphey who took the chequered flag and Germany’s Nick Antwerpen making the long trip worthwhile with a runner-up finish.Sampson’s final third place was backed up with a seventh-place finish in his heat.He was to produce a spectacular “Wall of Death” ride around the fence in his other heat before bouncing back with that great drive in the final. Austen Freestone was also going well again and had a runner-up finish in his heat but was unlucky in the final.Garry Lusher was in action in his last meeting from the white grade in the 1300 stock cars before he gets upgraded from next week. A big field of cars saw a full format being run with the meeting final being open to qualifiers only.Things didn’t start well with the brake pedal sticking on in the opening heat which saw Garry miss out on a qualifying spot in the final by finishing in twelfth. But it went better in the consolation as Lusher drove fantastically well to easily make the final at the second and final attempt with a second-place finish but the final did not go well and after a good start where he was going well he ended up in the fence with a broken steering column, clutch master cylinder broken and steel work.Troy Cobbett and Reggie Turnbull both picked up some good finishes in the 1600cc bangers. Turnbull finished the final in second place which was backed up with a sixth-place finish in his heat whilst Corbett finished in fourth place in both his heat and the final.Alex Smith also had a third-place finish in one of his heats whilst Ashley Garrod was heavily involved in the action throughout the day. Daisy Reynolds looked like she was going to take the chequered flag for the first heat in the junior bangers with a great drive. But her lead was wiped out with a caution period and although she diced well with the leaders well she eventually came home in fourth.
