Rockets have lift off in Softball Hundred Cup

The North Runcton Rockets team beat Denver Women on Sunday morning in the first round of the Women’s Softball Hundred Cup.The Rockets lost the toss and were asked to bat first.A great batting display, filled with confidence, controlled cricket shots and great running between the wickets saw the Rockets post 353 runs for the loss of only one wicket with Kiona Sequeira top-scoring with 45 not out.The Rockets took to the field and bowled and fielded with confidence and control, rounding off a great team performance.They restricted Denver Women to 272 runs for the loss of four wickets.Jackie Bunting (2 for 7 off three) and Julia Major (1 for 13 off three) were the wicket-takers as the Rockets secured an 81-run victory.
