King’s Lynn Town have announced the return of versatile defender Ross Barrows. The 26-year-old returns on an initial one-month loan deal from fellow National League North side Scunthorpe United. On the signing, Linnets manager Adam Lakeland said: “With Kian (Ronan) going away with Gibraltar next week, it was important that we brought someone in with the relevant experience and qualities, so it was a no-brainer to go for Ross and I’m delighted that he’s joined us.”He’s a player who is well thought of by many at the club having been with us previously.”With him having that little bit of ‘the Linnets’ in his veins, I know it’s another player coming in who will fight for the club and his teammates.“Add to that his experience and strengths, I think it’s a strong acquisition for us.”Barrows spent four successful seasons at The Walks from 2019 until his departure in May 2022 when he signed for Altrincham in the National League. The Sheffield-based defender signed for Lynn from Grantham in March 2019, made 103 appearances (94 starts), scoring nine goals. He was part of both the Southern Central League Premier play-off winning squad of 2019 and the side that gained promotion to the National League in 2020.A string of magnificent performances in several positions saw Barrows become a firm favourite with the Lynn fans during his last spell. On returning to West Norfolk, Barrows said: “I’m buzzing to be back at the club, where I have made lots of memories.“I’m looking forward to making more and helping the team have a strong finish to the season.”Barrows will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s match at Blyth Spartans.
