Heacham announce assistant boss and confirm club structure for next season

Heacham manager Paul Hunt has confirmed that Royce Rawlings will assist him in the dugout next season.Club stalwart Rawlings, who has played a major part in the club’s rapid rise up the non-league pyramid, is stepping down as captain and moving into a coaching/assistant manager role.The new Magpies boss is delighted to have Rawlings by his side, saying: “I have known Royce for many years and I am delighted to have him alongside me.”He is a role model to players and has a great mentality. I may look to add one more person to bring in as part of the first team coaching staff.”Central defender Rawlings, who will still make himself available for selection if required, is looking forward to his new challenge.”Heacham is a fantastic club. It’s a club which I’ve been involved with for a long time now and hold close to my heart.”It’s a great opportunity for me. I’ve known Hunty since my youth days he’s a fantastic coach who will get the best out of players and I’m really excited to be working with him. “It’s a new chapter for Heacham now and I can’t wait to get started.”As well as having a side in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, the Magpies will run a reserve side in Division Five North of the Anglian Combination and an Under-18 team in the Thurlow Nunn North Division next term. Hunt said: “We have two great guys to run the reserve and 18s teams.”For the Reserves, we have Matt Pooley. Matt knows the local area well, having played for several teams such as Wells, Thornham and Dersingham. He has run teams for over 10 years and is well-respected in the area. “Mark McDonnell will be managing the Under 18s. Mark has an excellent knowledge of the young players coming through in the local area and his under-16s side were county cup finalists last season.”Both Matt and Mark are passionate about developing young players and we are lucky to have them both at the club.”
