It was yet another soggy weekend for the Mid Norfolk Youth League girls.Well done to the coaching teams from Watlington and Terrington in the Under 12 Division, for managing to get a game on via a venue switch at short notice. It proved to be worth the effort in yet another keenly contested match. It was Terrington who took the spoils on this occasion with a 2-1 victory.Poppy Allan and Keelee Wright grabbed a goal apiece for them, with Elsie-May Collison finding the back of the net on debut for Watlington in reply. This result moves Terrington onto the shoulder of Gaywood, who did not have a fixture this week – now two points off top spot with two games in hand. The other match to beat Mother Nature saw Necton hosting KLSC Lionesses, also in the Under 12 category.Again, the two could only be separated by the odd goal.KLSC struck first against the run of play when Sana Grimsby pounced on a goalkeeping spill to give the Lionesses the lead.Necton pulled themselves level before the break when Joergie Richardson confidently drove home with her left foot following some good work in midfield. In a tense second half, both sides looked to push for a winner, and it looked for a time that some resolute defending would prevent it. With ten minutes to go, it was Richardson again for Necton, who broke through the line to stroke home from just inside the KLSC area to seal the 2-1 win.
