West Norfolk made the most of an early start as they put Holt to the sword with a 57-19 victory on the road.Both teams started nervously carrying the weight of this exciting fixture’s reputation and West Norfolk’s missed opportunity for an early lead was soon punished by the hosts to open the scores.West continued to apply pressure and Kailen Hayden broke free in full stride along the sideline cutting inside to place the ball between the posts – a gift for Ethan Killian to convert.The visitors looked settled and comfortable in possession although Holt’s defence battled hard to keep West Norfolk pegged back.It was a defiant run from Theo Hobbs scoring a superb try distinguishing the difference between the two teams.West Norfolk’s Kilian looked lethal running from the back, untouchable as he scored two tries and conversions in quick succession as the visitors ended the half well on top.The second half soon got underway with a try from Ben Taylor-Bunting. Holt displayed great character and their persistence was rewarded with a well-worked team try which was converted. All the hard work from West’s forwards was celebrated after a heroic try from a deserving Mason Ford with Taylor-Bunting convertingThe highlight of the match came from West boys regaining possession for Kilian to kick across the field under pressure into the path of teammate Taylor-Bunting to catch on the run to score between the posts.The brilliant move was applauded by the visiting and home supporters alike.The dynamic duo Taylor-Bunting and Killian (man-of-the-match) finished off proceedings with another try and conversion to complete an emphatic victory.
