Under-13 rink hockey players from Lynn maintained their unbeaten run heading into their final tournament next month. Two wins at Burwell allowed the team to continue their sparkling form and extend their undefeated sequence to 12 games. With a full squad at their disposal, Lynn tackled an ever-improving ECU.Lynn opened the scoring when Harlee Oltai played a cross-rink pass to the advancing Joshua Rawlinson who controlled and then swept away the ball to put his side in front.Rawlinson added a second with a neat flick into the net before going on to complete a first-half hat-trick to give Lynn a 3-0 interval lead.Rawlinson then turned provider as he slot a pass through to Oltai who calmly chose his spot and flicked it into the net.Swapping assists and goals between them. Oltai then laid the ball up to Rawlinson who calmly picked his spot for his fourth goal. Oltai increased the lead before Rawlinson took his tally in the first game to six with two fine finishes.Lynn rounded off a 9-2 win with Rawlinson using the wall to allow him to assist Lewis Stannett to register the final goal.Olivia Oxborough, Rupert Oselton, Keith Monk, Olivia Cwilinska and Theo Pezzillo all came close to adding to the score. The team’s second game was against league rivals and previous runners-up and tournament host Soham Dark Blues. The game started tentatively with neither team wanting to make a mistake. Rawlinson and an Oltai penalty saw Lynn take a 2-1 lead into the interval.Shortly after the restart, Rawlinson made it 3-1 and, despite some fine saves from captain and goalkeeper Isla Procter, Soham pegged one back to make it 3-2. The ever-resilient Oselton then drove down the right and fired a cross-cum-shot towards goal before Oltai used his long reach to flick the ball beyond the keeper.Oxborough forced a mistake which allowed her to win the ball and had it not been for a fine Soham save she would have added to the scoreline.Oltai stole the ball to add Lynn’s fifth and final goal before the hosts replied with a third in the final seconds of the game. The team would like to thank sponsor Meadowside Vet Physio for their continued support.
