After the game, the club took to X to say: “A couple of brilliant strikes from distance, alongside an N.Castellan finish, saw us come away with all three points and a clean sheet. “A sending off on half-hour made things difficult but we battled well throughout. The away side also went down to 10 with 30 minutes remaining.”On Wednesday night, Downham Town have a home derby in the Norfolk Senior Cup when they host Anglian Combination outfit Castle Acre Swifts.Heacham climbed off the bottom of the table and moved out of the relegation zone as they ended an eight-game run without a win in all competitions against Stowmarket. Toby Hilliard registered a brace with Jack Prentice and Joe Jackson also found the back of the net.”The players were superb,” said Magpies boss Paul Hunt after the game. “We had the opportunities to have been out of sight at half-time and there were plenty of positives to talk about at the interval. It was a case of telling the players to keep doing what they were doing and to make the most of any chances that came along.”Up until this week, we hadn’t played many sides outside the top seven but now we’ve got a run of games against sides around us in the table so hopefully we can go on a bit of a run.” On Tuesday night, Heacham entertain Easton in the Norfolk Senior Cup.”The Norfolk Senior Cup is a lovely competition, but we can’t take Easton lightly as they are flying in the Anglian Combination Premier Division. We’ll need to be at our best to beat them.”In the First Division North, it was a case of 13th time lucky for Swaffham Town as they picked up their first win of the campaign at home to Leiston U23s.Ethan Lloyd-Patrick scored a brace for the Pedlars who found themselves a goal down in the opening minute. Lloyd-Patrick made the most of a Leiston error to equalise after 15 minutes, sliding the ball under the keeper into the bottom left-hand corner of the net, before heading home his second goal of the game from a corner two minutes later.Luke Clemenson also grazed the post for the hosts before the half-time whistle. On Tuesday evening, the Pedlars welcome Dussindale and Hellesdon Rovers to the Uncle Luke’s Stadium for their second-round encounter in the Norfolk Hire Senior Cup.
