West Norfolk Athletic Club juniors delivered some brilliant performances in the final round of the last QuadKids event.Positions are awarded for the day itself, and then for the series where the athletes’ three best performances from any of the events are totalled up.For the individual day results, U11 James Watts took bronze, with Liam Allitt close behind in fourth.Miller Crane also took home a bronze medal in the U13 boys, which was helped by an astonishing 45m throw in the howler.Watts’ best performance came in the 600m as is customary with 1.56 for first, then his 12.3s 75m sprint with 204 points.Allitt was fourth overall on the day with 189 points, his best also the 600m in 2.12 and he was fourth in the howler with a big 26.49 throw.For the U11 girls, Poppy Lee Roylance did fantastically well to finish 13th with 137 points, again her LH the best with fifth and 1.73m followed by a 13s sprint. Jess Watts recorded a PB in the 600m with 2.25 for her highest performance followed by 13.8 in the sprint for 16th overall and 137 points. Lauren Laurence also had her best day in the 600m with 2.30 despite feeling under the weather and sprinted in 15.4s for 19th overall.For the U13 boys, Miller Crane claimed a total of 228 points and after his 45.11 howler throw his next best came in the 100m with 15.1.Matas Petreikis continued his unbeaten long jump streak with first place in that event with 4m17 followed by a sub 3 800m in 2.59.8 for 217 points fifth overall. Jacob Dale achieved a PB in the 800m with 3.07 and had a fantastic howler of 27.26 for 158 points overall in 12th.Samuel Howard, who like Dale and Petreikis is in their first year at U13, managed a big howler throw of 27.04 and a 16.3 100m for 157 points and 13th. In the U13 girls, Casey Ward, Sofia Mackiviciute and Keeley Thorne all competed.Despite Ward and Mackiviciute pulling out of one event each they still finished well but with a reduction in points, with the former in 13th and again a storming 800m run with 2.55. Mackiviciute was seventh in the howler, with 18.93 and ran a fast 16.4 100m for 18th overall.Thorne finished in 20th place and had a great result in the howler with 21m59 as well as a 2.93 LJ.Moving onto the overall series results, James Watts came away victorious as the series winner in the U11 boys with 610 points across his best three matches.Liam Allitt was just off the podium in fourth with 560 points. For the U11 girls, Poppy-Lee finished in 18th place with 408, Sofia Gilboy in 19th with 399, Jess Watts in 20th with 393 and Lauren Lawrence in 26th with 297.Casey Ward finished the series in 10th for the U13 girls with 483 and Sofia Mackeviciute in 17th with 344.In the U13 boys, Petreikis finished in fifth with 660, Miller in sixth with 658 and Howard in 11th with 528.Across the series Teagan and Keely Thorne, Kacey Gray, Ollie Anderson, William Ward, Luke Anderson, Jacob Dale and Rhys Howard all competed as well.The club would like to extend their thanks to Athletics Norfolk for their organisation and everyone who took part in the events competing, officiating and organising.The brand new Anglian inter-counties quad kids festival takes place in August and details and entry can be found on Athletics Norfolk’s Website under fixtures.
