West Norfolk receives training ball donation

A West Norfolk Rugby Club stalwart has donated 20 training balls to the club as they look to secure the league title at the weekend.West Norfolk host Thurston at Gatehouse Lane on Saturday (3pm) knowing that a win will crown the team Counties 2 Eastern Counties League champions – and see them bounce back from relegation at the first attempt.At training on Wednesday night, club president Steve Smith received 20 training balls kindly donated by Ricky Nicholls of Nicholls Industrial Building Services Ltd.Ricky said “I’ve enjoyed and played at the club for more than 28 years and wanted to give something back.”Steve Smith said: “Ricky has been a great playing stalwart always prepared to play home or away.”The club president thanked Ricky for the generous donation.West Norfolk has enjoyed a tremendous campaign on the pitch and has only been beaten three times all season. Before Saturday’s big match 75 former players travelling from as far afield as America and Dubai will attend a pre-match lunch. On Friday, March 28, at 7pm, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the club’s formation, a presentation of the club’s history will be made including an insight into West Norfolk’s 100-year history book.A look around the new changing facilities will follow this.
