West Norfolk Swimming Club had a strong presence at the 2025 East Region Open Water Swimming Championships.
The annual event doubles as both the County and Regional Championships, and also offers qualification opportunities for the upcoming National Championships at Rother Valley in Sheffield.
The club fielded 25 swimmers across all distances and celebrated a string of excellent performances.
Most notably, four swimmers secured qualification for the Nationals: Nellie Chadderton, 13, Jamie Wilson and Oliver Norris, both 16, and Wiktoria Marcinek, 17.
Wilson impressed in the 5k event, finishing first in Norfolk and second in the region, while Norris was placed second in Norfolk and fifth regionally, both earning spots in the 7.5k National race.
Marcinek claimed a dominant victory in the 17/18 category, finishing first in both county and region.
Chadderton finished first in Norfolk and fifth in the region in the 2k event for 13-year-olds, also sealing her place at Nationals.
Other standout West Norfolk results included Edward Murray (first in Norfolk and the region in the 3k Open), Daisy Covell (first Norfolk, fifth region in the 1k and overall Norfolk 1k female winner), and Rhys Burrell, who won both county and regional titles in the 1k Open category.
The championships once again highlighted the depth of talent at West Norfolk, with swimmers of all ages earning recognition.
Also competing and achieving some fine results in their categories were: Madison Hicks, Poppy Peebles, Tracy Dodds, Martha More, Bay Smith, Charlie Bradford, Lexi Foster, Alma Pattison, Esmie Kidman, Greg Brown, Hayley Turner, Noah Goodson, Joseph Read, Lucy Chadderton, Polly Anderson, Elizabeth Litvinenko and Alexandra Cerps.
