In the MNYL Girls U12 provision, there was a close-fought victory at Stow Bridge Playing Field for Watlington over Gaywood.Evie Drew and Taliyah Tapey grabbed the goals for the victors, with Rosie Eastwood’s strike not enough in reply during a 2-1 defeat.Elsewhere, KLSC Lionesses hosted Terrington at Kingsway for the first time this season. It was the Lionesses starting on the front foot, hitting the post before Mylee Boyle put Terrington on their way with her first of the season.Laila Ringer hammered home that advantage when she converted a first-half hat-trick, before repeating the trick in the second period bagging an incredible six goals personally on the day.Keelee Wright and an Alise Senina header rounded off the scoring with Terrington taking home the points with the 9-0 win.Events on the day, coupled with the unfortunate news of Heacham having to pull out of the league, now sees Terrington hit top spot with Gaywood and Watlington forming the chasing pack.In the U14 Division, 1st played 3rd as Weeting Saxon hosted Terrington.Weeting found themselves two to the good at the break.Terrington came to the fore in the second period, and managed to wrestle control of possession.First Taylor Baker, with a goal on debut, and then Summer Ringer struck to restore parity.Neither side were able to find the winner, with Leila Todd producing a superb stop to deny Weeting in the dying embers.Best wishes to all four West Norfolk U12 girls’ sides in the quarter-finals of the County Cup this weekend.
