Under-11 roller hockey players from Lynn scored goals for fun as they marked their return to action with four successive wins and clean sheets at Letchworth.Playing in their second tournament of the campaign, the team fell foul to illness with multiple key players missing and were unable to field any substitutes for all four games. The team did not let this deter them in their usual dogged way as they faced hosts Letchworth Whites in the first game. They hit the ground running with a 12-0 victory thanks to goals from captain Rupert Oselton, Alexander Hanzlick and Lennox Oltai.Against Soham Light Blues in their second game, the team showed their experience and excellent match play by pinning their opponents back for most of the game leaving goalkeeper Arthur Pike with little to do.The less experienced Ella King, playing in her first full games, was determined to get on the score sheet and despite her monumental efforts and multiple hits against the woodwork, Oselton, Hanzlick and Oltai helped the team romp to a 15-0 victory. That elusive first goal will eventually arrive for King because she did everything else to a great standard. The third game came against an older less experienced Peterborough who has multiple over-aged players playing down with first-year registrations. This was told in the physicality of the game with Lynn’s youngsters taking a few knocks on the way.Never a team to back down from a challenge, Pike was called into action more this game and never faltered. The team managed to battle to a 2-0 victory with goals from Oselton and Hanzlick. In their final game of the day the team faced ECU and despite playing three games with no substitutions they saved the best till last as Pike once again held tight in goal recording his and the team’s fourth clean sheet of the day as they stemmed any threat from ECU.They recorded an outstanding 19-0 victory with goals from Oselton, Hanzlick and Oltai rounding off the day for the team with four victories from as many games. The team would like to thank Oselton Builders for their continued support of the team.
