Two Lionesses offered places at Peterborough Academy

Two of King’s Lynn Soccer Club’s U15 Lionesses have been offered places at the Peterborough United Women and Girls Academy, through the partnership between the two clubs.

Fearne Russell and Lana Sturgeon have been with the Lionesses from the beginning.

Manager Brit Hay explained ‘ Having this club partnership with Peterborough United has been great.

“It’s a real opportunity for local girls to showcase their skills as evidenced with Fearne and Lana. The girls are real hard workers in training and on the pitch, and this is a great opportunity for them both and well deserved.”

The pair will continue to work hard and represent both clubs.

Coach Paul Collier explained the girls deserve the opportunity to play at a higher level, saying: “We have a very strong team here at KLSC with several girls in Norwich City Emerging Talent Centre, Advanced Talent Centre. It’s just great to see the players developing on the pitch.

“A lot of time went into getting the Academy club partnership. It’s working amazing, not just at youth level. We were able to play Peterborough U23s goalkeeper Brooke Robinson recently.

“It is great to see the partnership working so well in both directions said club chair Philip Yates.

The club’s Erin Robinson is also involved with Peterborough Academy.

Robinson played her first game for KLSC Lionesses against Witchford Colts, which saw KLSC win 6-0.

A superb defensive performance from the players also saw Rusell grab a brace, Lily Burch and Daisy Smith grabbing a goal each and Robinson scoring two and assisting one to bag herself the Player of the Match award.
