To reach the final, Castle Acre had overcome hosts Downham A in the semi-finals, while King’s Lynn booked their place by defeating Upwell.

Speaking after the triumph, Castle Acre captain Paul Slocombe said: “We came up against strong opposition in King’s Lynn, who had beaten us to win the EBA West Division One, but we managed to get our revenge by overcoming them this time.

“I would like to thank Rocky Lewis and Gavin Cater from Downham BC, who organise this tournament, as it gives us an extra month’s bowling at the end of the season. I would strongly urge other clubs to consider taking part.

“I also want to congratulate my team and thank them for supporting me, and to thank Dean and his Lynn team for making it such a close and tense game.”
