Downham Town’s history-making season has been given another huge boost after the club announced a partnership with Adrian Flux.
The Isthmian League North Division outfit are playing at its highest level and has strengthened its plans for future progression by teaming up with the insurance broker.
The three-season deal will see the firm’s logo appear on the sleeve of first-team shirts, as well as providing new kits for two youth teams alongside a host of other benefits.
Town chairman James Taylor said: “As we continue to grow at DTFC, both through the amazing achievements of the first team as well as the continued development of our youth teams, partnerships with local businesses are incredibly important.
“We count ourselves as very lucky that we have a number of strong partnerships in place, and we are very excited that Adrian Flux has decided to become a big part of the club.
“It is a well-known brand in the area and has a strong history when it comes to backing local sports teams and individuals, and their reputation will help the football club to grow off the field.
“We would like to thank the management at Adrian Flux for entering into this partnership with us and look forward to welcoming them at home games in the near future.”
Ross Cooper, under-7s coach, added: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Adrian Flux for their generous support of our new team. The kit looks fantastic and it’s given the team a real boost. We’re proud to have the logo on our shirts as we begin our first-ever season.”
Downham sits 12th in the 22-team table, having made a more than respectable start to life at Step Four of the non–League pyramid.
They are the latest sporting outfit in the district to receive the backing of Flux – a family-raised company that is now the UK’s largest specialist motor insurance broker. Its head office is in East Winch.
Gerry Bucke, the company’s general manager, said: “Football clubs at the level of Downham rely on the tireless efforts of volunteers and provide something so special for the community.
“The club is enjoying some of its most special days yet, and we want to help support their efforts off the pitch as they attempt to keep up with the incredible progression on it.
“Being able to support the next generation is equally important for us and will hopefully ensure that the players of tomorrow plus friendships and memories, are already being created.
“We look forward to visiting the Memorial Ground and wish the whole club, especially the first team, who are doing the town and area proud with their start to life at their highest-ever level, every success this season and beyond.”
