Watlington under-14s travelled to Terrington Tigers in the Mid Norfolk Youth Girls’ League, as they looked to continue their rapid improvement in their debut season. The away side started strongly, possibly edging the first 15 minutes but with no clear-cut opportunities. It was Terrington that did break the deadlock though, which led to the inexperienced away side losing their shape.Tigers punished this and raced into a three-goal advantage.Watlington pulled themselves back into the contest before the break though.Coming under pressure from the opposition, Evie MacMurray intercepted before releasing Sophia Dudley who still had it all to do. She carried the ball into the Terrington box before rolling a cool finish into the corner to make it 3-1 at the break. The second half was a back-and-forth encounter, but the Terrington squad depth showed against depleted Watlington numbers, eventually grabbing their fourth to put the result beyond doubt, finishing 4-1.The Terrington goals came through two apiece for Sophie Codringham and Summer Ringer.Elsewhere, the final game of the day saw Gaywood peg back league leaders Weeting Saxon 3-2, keeping the race for top spot alive.
