The Linnets have an immediate chance to recover from Saturday’s defeat at South Shields as they entertain fellow strugglers Bishop’s Stortford at The Walks tonight (Tuesday).
After going so close to promotion from the National League North last season, Lynn have struggled in their 13 games so far this term and find themselves third from bottom of the 24-team table.
Stortford are one place below them and on Saturday crashed 4-1 at Warrington Town.
In the squad tonight will be new signing, teenage defender Billy Jones, who made his debut at South Shields on Saturday.
Jones is new manager Adam Lakeland’s second piece of business with League One Fleetwood Town after the signing of George Morrison, who enjoyed a fine debut in Lynn’s excellent 2-1 victory over Darlington the previous weekend and featured again in Tyneside.
18-year-old Jones was involved with the Fleetwood Town first-team last season and was on the bench for Town’s fixtures away at Sheffield Wednesday in League One as well as for the Emirates FA Cup clash at Hillsborough.
Jones also featured in all of Town’s Under-18s FA Youth Cup matches last season, helping Mark Yeates’s side reach the Fifth Round of the competition, with wins over Carlisle United, Stockport County, Bristol City and Middlesbrough.
In his earlier days, he was with Everton and the Liverpool Schoolboys under-11 team
The youngster, who is very quick and powerful, can play anywhere down the left and right flanks.
Going in the opposite direction is summer signing Sion Spence who has put pen to paper for Havant and Waterlooville in the National League South.
Spence made 14 appearances (nine starts) since joining the club in July.
