Stars stalwart reveals testimonial format

KIng’s Lynn favourite Niels-Kristian Iversen has revealed the format for his Testimonial meeting which will kick off the new season.The Danish star celebrates his extensive service to the sport in the UK with his benefit event at the Adrian Flux Arena on Sunday, March 16 (3pm) – which is scheduled to be the first meeting of 2025 in this country.Iversen plans to run a Four Team Tournament featuring his current club King’s Lynn and three others he has ridden for during his career, and all of who are now much missed following closures.His first full season in the UK saw him represent Newport Wasps in the second tier in 2003, whilst he spent a total of five seasons with Peterborough Panthers – winning the old Elite League title with the club in 2006.And the meeting will also feature a quartet from Wolverhampton Wolves, who Iversen represented in 2008 and who, like Peterborough, were forced out of the sport at the end of 2023 due to the loss of their stadium.Iversen’s first appearances for King’s Lynn came way back in 2001, before a more sustained spell in their colours in the 2010s and beyond, with 2025 being the tenth season in which he has ridden for the Stars.He said: “We are running a Four Team Tournament, it will be a match between King’s Lynn Stars, Newport Wasps, Peterborough Panthers and Wolverhampton Wolves. “These three away teams are all clubs I have represented in the past, and all clubs where I have great memories.”Line-ups for the meeting are coming soon, and sponsorship packages are available from puks.testimonial@yahoo.com
