Springwood students shine at secondary school athletics championships

Springwood came out on top in the eight-strong secondary school athletics championships held at Alive Lynnsport on Monday.

There were superb displays all day from the team.

A few notable performances were Year 7 student Miley Gilboy, who won the 100m and 200m, Year 8 Fran Escoto Domingo, who won the 200m and 800m, Year 8 Nelia Anderson, who won the 300m and high jump, Year 10 Theo Morrell, who won the 100m and 200m, Year 10 India Blandford, who won the shot, discus and javelin, and Year 10 Marissa Harrison, who won the 100m and 800m.

Springwood came out on top on each of the four age groups Y7, 8, 9 and 10 in what was a real team effort from all involved.

Lastly big thanks to the teachers at KES for organising such a great event, especially Mr Marrison for all of his hard work.
