Simon Lambert has been rocked by the news that he won’t be back with King’s Lynn for the 2024 Premiership season.
After finishing the last campaign as Stars’ captain, the Boston-born racer put in a string of fine performances for his parent club.
The 34-year-old played a true skipper’s role for the Saddlebow Road outfit, top scoring with paid-17 against local rivals Ipswich in their final home fixture.
And with that in mind, he hoped that he’d done enough to secure a team place in the Stars’ 2024 line-up.
Lambert said: “I received a call this week saying I won’t be in the Lynn team next season. I am really disappointed after the season I had with them and the performances I put in.
“I’ve been overlooked by other clubs as a lot of people expected me to be back at Saddlebow Road, but hey, it’s speedway so I’ll wait for the phone to ring and we go again!
“I proved last year whether I was riding for Lynn or guesting for other clubs that I always give 110 per cent, and I ride for the badge to entertain the paying public because I love putting smiles on faces!
“Hopefully, someone gives me an opportunity because I have so much more to give in the sport.”
