Jenson Sayell attended The Kart Championship presentation night at the weekend where he collected the CKC 2024 InterMax Vice Champion trophy.Having joined the CKC competition for the first time, in his first year in InterMax the Marshland St James driver had no expectations of a championship place. The CKC format was a challenging one with qualifying and two heats on Saturday followed by two Super Heats and a trophy Final on Sunday. The results from the heats formed the grid for the Super Heats and their results set the Final grid.A poor race therefore could impact the rest of the round.Sayell experienced this straight away finishing 17th in his first heat in wet conditions in the first round at Whilton Mill in Northants. But Sayell went on to take second in the Final.Sayell then went on to take third and four second spots, including second in the Final in Round Two at GYG in Wales. Round Three was the first time the West Norfolk youngster had raced at Warden Law near Sunderland and the first time he was not on the podium in the Final, finishing sixth in very wet conditions. Round Four at Rowrah in Cumbria saw Sayell’s return to the podium with a third place in the Final and runner-up places in all four heats. The last round was held at Fulbeck in Lincolnshire where Sayell struggled for power but took two seconds, two third places and a fourth in the final to secure the Vice Champion spot overall by 11 points.“Jenson’s consistent performance was so impressive, he thoroughly deserved the Vice Champion place and we are so pleased for him.“ said his Dad and pit crew Rob. Along with the impressive trophy, Sayell received a set of Sparco overalls and several other prizes.Sayell thanks all those who helped him this season including his team TWR, engine supplier Force Motorsport, GW Driver Development, Infinity X Starlaneuk Motorsport for set-up advice and Synergy Direct for a great chassis. Plus all his sponsors VROOAM, Prestige Designs, Chris Phillips and local companies JLK Vehicle Solutions, Ark East Anglia Ltd, Hall Clean, Professional Aesthetic Enhancements Kings Lynn and Sun Lounge.Sayell will be racing in a one-off Winter Round at Whilton Mill with the CKC promotion at the weekend, followed by round eight of the HKRC Championship, at Kimbolton, in October.
