Jenson Sayell picked up his first podium of 2025 after taking his Intermax kart to Kimbolton at the weekend. The young race ace took part in the second round of the Hunts Kart Racing Championship. After two difficult heats, Sayell had to ‘dig deep’ to eventually come away with a podium place in the final. With random grid allocation, Sayell started fourteenth from 24 karts for heat one.The team had to register their tyres on Saturday opting for new wets.Track conditions however suited intermediate tyres better. Sayell made up places in the early stages but was unable to progress in the second half of the race and finished a frustrating ninth. The Marshland St James driver started fourth in Heat Two but again struggled on the wet tyres which were too grippy for the conditions. His pace was better with a throttle issue from heat one resolved and he stayed in contention finishing sixth. Sayell qualified eighth for the final. The conditions were still part wet, and part dry making the tyre decision very difficult but the team opted for slicks. The youngster made up three places on the first lap, but it started to rain and he dropped back to sixth. However, the rain stopped around mid-distance and Sayell quickly started to make headway. He was up to fourth on lap seven and was up to third a lap later. With a rapid pace, Sayell took the fastest lap twice whilst chasing the lead two.Sayell closed the gap to take second on lap ten of thirteen but the leader had pulled out an impressive gap and Sayell had to settle for a well-earned runner-up place on the podium. Mechanic, Rob Sayell said: “After two frustrating heats on the wrong tyre which we were not allowed to change, I was pleased for Jenson with a well-deserved second in the final. It makes the drive home better.”Sayell thanked his team TWR and his engineer builder Force Motorsport and sponsors JLK Vehicle Solutions, Ark East Anglia Ltd, Sun Lounge Tanning Studio, Chris Phillips – Superstox 99, Hall Clean, Professional Aesthetic Enhancements Kings Lynn, Prestige Designs and Custom Racewear and Synergy Direct. The team are currently looking for sponsorship to support Jenson in his defence of the SuperOne Championship and to contest the CKC Championship. For information contact trudy.sayell@gmail.com or through Jenson Sayell Motorsport on their Facebook and Instagram pages where news and videos can also be seen.Sayell will continue testing until the first championship rounds in late March.
