Rising karting ace Jenson Sayell put on a masterclass at the weekend during Rounds 7 and 8 of the Super One Championship at Fulbeck.

The Marshland St James driver claimed two third-place podium finishes and a heat win in a weekend marked by unpredictable weather and high drama.

The reigning Super One InterMAX champion, racing for TWR Pantano and Force Motorsport, demonstrated consistency and maturity throughout a challenging weekend.

Sayell qualified third for Saturday’s heats and got off to a flying start in Heat One, registering consecutive fastest laps.

Despite losing ground to the front two late on, he maintained a strong pace to finish third.

In Heat Two, Sayell briefly moved up to second but ultimately crossed the line in third, setting himself up well for the Final.

Starting from third in the main event, he showed his racecraft by seizing the lead on lap two. A brief slip wide on lap four saw him drop to second, before reclaiming the lead again.

However, contact forced him wide and, while avoiding a collision, he had to run off track, falling back to fourth. Post-race penalties elevated him to third.

Sunday’s qualifying session proved tough as traffic on a wet track left the young driver in seventh place.

Heat One saw the track begin to dry mid-race, leaving Sayell on wet tyres. He managed a composed drive to finish fourth.

Heat Two, however, was the highlight of the weekend. With all drivers on slicks, a sudden downpour turned the race into a test of skill and nerve.

Sayell surged from seventh to second in just three laps, setting the fastest lap and quickest Sector One.

He took the lead when the race leader spun with a lap and a half remaining, pulling out an incredible 4.6-second margin to secure a memorable win in wet conditions.

Lining up second on the grid for Sunday’s Final, the youngster dropped to fourth early after struggling to cover the inside line. A Battenburg flag briefly neutralised the race after debris was knocked onto the pit corner.

Once green flag racing resumed, he fought back to third on lap eight, holding firm to collect his second podium of the weekend.

Sayell’s father and mechanic Rob was full of praise for his son’s performance, saying: “I was really pleased with the solid results Jenson got in challenging conditions this weekend.

“His driving was mature and really showed his talent, especially that win on slicks in the rain. All the best drivers shine in the rain.”

Sayell thanks TWR Pantano, Force Motorsport, IRemote Coaching, and his sponsors JLK Vehicle Solutions, Ark East Anglia Ltd, Sun Lounge Tanning Studio, and Hall Clean – for making weekends like this possible.”

The youngster now looks ahead to his next challenge at Rowrah in Cumbria, where he’ll compete in the penultimate round of the CKC InterMAX Championship.
