The weather wasn’t ideal for the Holkham series of races. There were strong head winds in parts, particularly the uphill section, as well as some intense heat.

To add another element of difficulty, the 10k race was held on the start line for 20 minutes while the organisers rerouted the course to avoid a wasps nest.

Juniors Henry Gosnell and Oliver Gayton both took on what was a 10.3k course, both commenting on it being the most difficult course they’ve done in their first year being eligible to run the event.

Gosnell finished in 43.02 and was third under-19 with Gayton coming home in a time of 55.13. Both were accompanied on the course by their dads, with Rob Gosnell finishing in 52.03 and Neil Gayton timing 51.28.
