Ryston Runners take on Blickling Half Marathon

A quiet weekend for Ryston Runners AC saw only half a dozen members lacing up their racing shoes.Four of them went off-road to cover the scenic route of the Spring Blickling Half Marathon.Dan Yallop was the fastest in the quartet and was placed third overall and third senior man in 1:23:29.A 60th place for Ian Wiggins, in 1:44:14, saw him place seventh in the M45 category, while Cat Foley-Wray was ninth in her SF category, finishing in 1:46:43 and 76th overall.Salina Cumbridge completed the Ryston line-up, finishing in 2:36:37 for 31st place in the F50 category in 490th overall out of 539,There were almost 900 finishers in the 20-mile race that forms part of the Milton Keynes Festival of Running.Among them were two Ryston Runners factoring the event into their spring marathon preparations.Considering the size of the field, they finished in impressively close order.Aimee Shaw was placed 165th/14thSF in 2:29:18, and James Ord finished a minute-and-a-half later 190th/42nd M40 in 2:30:50.
