Runners contest Wootton Park relays

West Norfolk Athletic Club held a friendly local event known unofficially as the Wootton Park relays on Sunday.Hosted by WNAC and the Wootton’s runners Facebook group, the event was a chance for locals of all clubs and abilities to run some Christmas turkey off and socialise with the running community over the festive season.Taking place in North Wootton Park, the event required teams of three.Each member of each team runs 2.5k in a relay format then all three members run another 2.5k all together to finish.What started as a club activity during Covid lockdowns has slowly progressed into a fun, social and welcoming running event.Sunday’s event attracted 20 teams, 60 runners in total of all ages and abilities.A team comprised of Dominic Marray-Woods, Dillon Whitehouse and Cody Pearman took the victory but most importantly, the event raised £100 for local charity The Purfleet Trust.
