King’s Lynn Town have confirmed the departure of head coach James Rowe.
In a brief two-paragraph statement, the Linnets said: “The club can confirm that head coach James Rowe has resigned with immediate effect.
“Joe Simpson will assume responsibility for all first-team affairs on a temporary basis.”
Rowe’s sudden departure is not thought to be for footballing reasons and there is believed to have been an incident at the club’s training ground earlier this week.
The former Chesterfield and AFC Fylde boss oversaw ten competitive matches and leaves the Linnets just outside the play-off places.
Rowe’s stay in the hot seat is three games more than Simon Clark’s back in 2018.
His exit comes just a few days before a big game at Royston in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.
