The Runcton Rockets capped a superb summer by clinching the NCF Hundred West Softball League title.
It sealed a memorable league-and-cup double for the team.
The Rockets registered a commanding 66-run victory over Snettisham in their final match of the season.
They produced a near-flawless display at home, with every batter contributing and only one wicket falling.
Backed up by sharp fielding and disciplined bowling that claimed four wickets, the result underlined the strength and spirit that have defined their campaign.
That victory lifted Runcton to 78 points, finishing 12 clear of nearest challengers Bircham in second.
Out of 12 scheduled fixtures, the Rockets played 11, winning eight outright while also benefiting from one opposition concession.
This latest triumph adds to the Rockets’ silverware haul, having already secured the Softball Cup earlier in the summer.
The success story does not stop there.
In hardball cricket, the Rockets narrowly missed out on another title, finishing runners-up in the Shell UK Norfolk Women’s Outdoor League by just a single point behind Snettisham.
Looking ahead, the Rockets will compete at the Softball Festival in Sprowston on September 14, before switching indoors for the winter league.
With players ranging from 13 upwards, the club continues to grow and welcomes new members keen to join a thriving, friendly squad.
It has been a remarkable year for the Rockets and there remains plenty of promise for the future.
