You’ve heard of football teams parking the bus before but Reffley u10s have taken it to another level. The team were struggling financially and the youngsters were making do with old and unmatched kits.Failing to secure a sponsor due to the financial climate, they approached Lynx Bus Company and were met with a warm welcome.Team manager Pardip Choat said: “Within days of reaching out to them, we received the sponsorship monies and were able to purchase new home and away kits.“The team and parents/carers were delighted and we now look the part. We are now even winning games!” Choat, with assistant coaches, Mark Grange and Brad Wilson, had led the team since the players were six-year-olds and he said: “Their friendship extends beyond the Reffley Academy school gates and they are friends for life and socialise outside football and school.“But they were dejected and were turning up with makeshift kits as we didn’t have enough to go around. “Once Lynx Bus Company offered funding for new kits, it energised the team.“They had a slow start to the season but seem to have bucked up in the last few months, giving the tougher teams a run for their money.“We are so grateful for the sponsorship and they even let the kids run rampage in one of their buses!”“They loved running around the bus and made sure they left as much mud in the aisles as possible! We are very grateful to Lynx for sponsoring the team in our time of need.”
