West Norfolk Athletic Club’s Arran Reeve demonstrated his running ability by taking the honours at this week’s Lynn parkrun.Reeve recorded a time of 16:55, while the first female to finish was Lisa Pyatt in 21:35.This week’s age-graded hero was Pauline Sparrow, who finished with an age grading of 88.98%, closely followed by first-time visitor to Lynn, Sandra Roberts from the aptly-named Coltishall Jaguars running club, on 87.77%.Congratulations to Dmitrijs Aleksejvs and Aimee Jones on their 50th parkruns, David Dimech on his 250th and Martin Blackburn on his 500th parkrun.Despite many runners preparing for the London and Manchester Marathons, the event still saw a great crowd of 402 runners in The Walks. It was good to see 40 runners with us for the first time, 20 new to parkrun and 20 first-time visitors from wide and far, including Norwich, Edinburgh, Newark and Northampton. This week’s volunteers also included a fantastic group of 17 park walkers, who attended as part of parkruns national parkwalk day.The day aimed to encourage those who may be unsure about taking in physical activity, the opportunity to attend and see what a welcoming and inclusive event parkrun is, regardless of ability.
