A quiet week, by club standards, saw only half a dozen Ryston Runners out on the roads, but half of them still made the podium in their respective races.

Gina Hurrell and Eamonn McCusker went to Ditchingham for the second race in the Bungay Black Dog summer series.

In humid conditions, Hurrell was placed 122nd out of almost 300 finishers, with 50:59, giving her first place in the F60 category.

McCusker found himself caught in a bit of a log jam on the narrow roads behind the 60-minute mark pace runner, but finally managed to extricate himself to finish 204th, and fourth M70, in 58:57.

The Coltishall Jaguars “Flying 5k” at Scottow Enterprise Park attracted another healthy field, with 368 finishers, of whom five were in the green, black, and white of Ryston.

First across the line was Stewart Robins in 87th/20:09, taking third place in the M55 category.

Lesley Robins (no relation!) came in a minute later in 124th to claim second spot in the F50 age group.

In 160th, George Pettit was 12th M50 and 160th overall.

Two Martins completed the club contingent, Martin Blackburn finishing 275th and as ninth M65 in 28:30, and Martin Elsegood 330th and 18th M60 in 33:51.
