The FEI Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials get under way today.The highlight of this action-packed weekend will be the CCI4*-S competition, culminating in an electrifying cross-country phase on Sunday afternoon.Could it be back-to-back wins for Laura Collett and London 52? The pair have added another Olympic team gold and an individual bronze medal to their incredible resume since they won here last spring, and they now return to Norfolk ready to defend their crown.Anyone hoping to take home the CCI4*-S title, however, will have Oliver Townend to contend with.The undisputed king of Burnham Market, he has amassed an unprecedented 15 4* wins at the event so far and will undoubtedly have his eyes set on more.There will be three Olympic gold medal-winning horses in action over the weekend, with Tom McEwen competing against his Paris team gold medallist, JL Dublin in Saturday’s OI class.A packed weekend of entertainment will ensure there is something for everyone. Highlights include impressive falconry displays, high-speed terrier racing, the nostalgic charm of Grays Funfair, and the ever-popular Woolly Warriors. Gates open at 8am each morning, with competition getting under way at 9am (Friday and Saturday) and 8am on Sunday.Tickets are available to purchase online and on the gate.
