King’s Lynn Town have lost the services of defender Olly Scott by mutual consent.
Northern-based Scott – who won himself a contract at The Walks after trialing for free – wants to continue his development closer to home.
The left-sided player played 48 times for Lynn – scoring twice – with both of his goals coming against Boston United over the festive period.
A statement from the club said: “Despite being hampered by injuries towards the end of last season, his performances always impressed.
“However, after a difficult period personally, Scott has decided that he needs to be closer to his home in the North-East.
Scott, 22, said: “I’d like to thank everyone at the club; players, staff, and most importantly the supporters who were brilliant with me from the moment I joined.
“Mark Hughes and the chairman have been very understanding in a very difficult situation for me. I’d like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to show my ability.”
Chairman Stephen Cleeve and all at the club thank Scott for his service to the club and wish him all the best in the future.
