The favourable weather seemed to inspire strong displays across the board at Lynn parkrun, with 33 runners achieving personal bests.

Leading the pack was Dylan Whitehouse, who stormed to a new PB of 17:09 to be first across the line.

He was closely followed by Ely visitor Laura Todd, who was the first woman to finish in a commendable 21:15.

Shaun Mann also stood out, earning the highest age-graded score of the day with an impressive 86.71%.

Among the crowd were eight first-time parkrunners and 26 visitors from near and far, including Ipswich, Bushy Park, and even New Zealand.

Each was given a warm welcome by the local community, continuing the tradition of Lynn parkrun’s friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

Milestones added to the celebratory mood, with Matthew Dobie and Rob Bulliment completing their 50th parkruns, Wayne Hopkin and Christine Mooney reaching their 150th, Jake Pegg running his 300th, and Helen Sewell marking an outstanding 350 parkruns.

Whether chasing a PB or simply enjoying the route, runners were reminded of a key parkrun philosophy: “the only bad run is the one that didn’t happen.”

Lynn parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k open to all abilities.

First-timers are encouraged to register at www.parkrun.com/register and meet at The Walks Café by 8:45 am for a welcome briefing.
