A wet Saturday in West Norfolk reduced the football played considerably. However, some fixtures did beat the weather including the Division One fixture between bottom side West Lynn and KLSC Reserves. West Lynn have had a challenging start to the season and KLSC showed no mercy with an emphatic 7-1 victory. Daniel Berry and Jay Russell each found the net on three occasions and substitute Danny Hazell completed the scoring for the team now in second place.
Table toppers Reffley made it five league wins in as many games with a 2-0 win at Watlington Reserves. Their star man Dion Evans continues to shine as his double ensured the win and took his season total to 14 goals.
The experienced Gary English scored his first goal for The Woottons in just his second appearance. His strike added to one from Samuel Garner to see the Sky Blues remain top of the table with a 2-0 win away to KLSC FC A.
A young Gayton A team met an injury-depleted Dersingham A side in Division Two and put up a brave performance in a 5-1 defeat. The first half saw a great headed goal from Dersingham’s veteran, Dane Hipkin. The second half saw Dersingham’s Man of the Match Obie Howe score two goals with Joe Ellis and Nathan Mitchel scoring one each. Gayton scored a good consolation goal through Thomas Nicholls and their Man of the Match was the hard-working Bertie Lipscombe. Referee Lewis Foulger handled the game very well.
Cowley Wanderers are improving week on week and their fixture against Watlington Development saw them find the net of three occasions for only the second time in the club’s existence. Sadly, for them, Watlington found the net eight times thanks to a hat-trick from Finley Brooke and goals from Jake Chaplin, Harvey Scott, Josh Thompson and Luke Henderson.
The final fixture to beat the wet condition was West Winch vs Clenchwarton Reserves. Second-placed Winch secured the points with 4-1 victory thanks to Ben Youngs, Jordan Clifford, David Edgar and Jack Purdy.
