Unbeaten young footballers from Lynn are being dubbed the ‘invincibles’ after completing a league and cup double in the space of a week.King’s Lynn Town’s under-16 academy team haven’t lost a game all season on their way to Junior Premier League and National League Cup success. They are the only under-16 team to win every league match since the Junior Premier League was formed.Joint boss Stuart Gallon, who manages the team with Justin Short, said: “It is an incredible achievement. To be the national champions and to win every game in such a tough league against some of the top teams in England is fantastic.”The lads have been brilliant all season and now we look forward to the tough task of taking them into men’s football with Swaffham Town. We will also be linked to King’s Lynn Town.”We were in the group of death in the cup, but we topped that by winning all of our games.”It then splits into a top-tier cup competition. They were decent, but we always seem to find something. “To win every game in that against some really good sides takes some doing, so I’m over the moon with them.” In yesterday’s National Cup final against Woking at the Sixways Stadium in Worcester, the game went to penalties after finishing 1-1 after normal time. The young Linnets went on to win the game 8-7 from the spot, where goalkeeper Sam Hoyle was the hero, saving two Woking penalties and scoring one himself.
