A cold and bright morning greeted 366 runners to The Walks on Saturday morning for the latest parkrun. The latest outing included 10 first-time park runners and 13 first-time visitors from as far away as Exeter, Milton Keynes and Saffron Walden. The run was supported by 29 fantastic volunteers. Organisers are lucky also to have several individuals who attend each week just to volunteer, this being a mentally-rewarding and beneficial activity for all who do it.Well done to Matt Thrower first to finish on his 300th parkrun in 17:07 and to JW11-14 Libby Sibthorp, who was the first female to finish in a very good time of 20:02.Congratulations this week to Matt Thrower, Sally King and Fergus Barrett all on their 300th parkrun. It was good to see ex-Downham Mayor Charlie Pyatt back after a long absence due to illness.Pyatt did very well to get around the course after such a long break.King’s Lynn parkrun takes place in The Walks at 9am every Saturday and is a free, timed 5k run or walk, open to all community members regardless of age or ability and wheelchair entrants are also welcome. Those wishing to take part should register at parkrun: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/ and once registered can take part in any parkrun event in both the UK and abroad.
