Heacham drew at lowly Kirkley and Pakefield this afternoon and Fakenham Town lost at high-flying Mildenhall Town.
Kirkley had lost 13 of their 16 Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division games this season but managed to hold David Griggs’ men to a 0-0 draw.
Meanwhile, Fakenham led at half-time against title favourites Mildenhall after an 18th-minute opener before conceding three goals in the final 20 minutes to lose 3-1.
In the Norfolk Senior Cup, Downham Town’s home tie with Wells Town and Swaffham Town’s game at Long Stratton were both victims of the wet weather.
Fakenham and Heacham both meet lower division opposition in the county cup in midweek, with The Ghosts entertaining Great YarmouthTown on Tuesday and Heacham travelling to play Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers on Wednesday.
Heacham received a boost before today’s match with the loan signing of Charlie Royle from King’s Lynn Town for the rest of the season.
Royle was on loan at The Magpies towards the end of last season as they won the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League First Division North title.
