Under 13 roller hockey players from Lynn clinched the Eastern Counties title with a 100 per cent record after winning their final three games of the campaign.Victories over host side Letchworth, Soham Dark Blues and Skaters put the icing on the cake after a brilliant season for the Lynn youngsters.Lynn didn’t look back after breaking the deadlock through Harlee Oltai in their opening outing against Letchworth. The goals continued to flow with Oltai scoring six, Joshua Rawlinson (3), Rupert Oselton (2) and Keith Monk (2) to leave the score 13-2 to confirm Lynn as champions. There was no let-up against eventual runners-up Soham Dark Blues in a tight affair.Goals from Rawlinson and Oltai put Lynn 2-0 to the good before Soham pulled a goal back from a direct hit.The drama was not finished there though as Lynn received a blue card thus also awarding Soham another direct hit, time for captain Isla Procter to step up and deny Soham. The remaining three players on the rink then for the next two minutes knew their job was to defend, defend, defend and that they did as Oltai, Oselton and Olivia Oxborough thwarted any advances from the full selection of Soham players with help from Procter between the posts. Rawlinson bagged a treble during a 6-1 victory over Skaters in their final game with Oltai (2) and Oxborough also finding the back of the net. There was some brilliant defending in the second half from Theo Pezzillo and Lewis Stannett, backed up by Procter. The team would like to thank sponsors Meadowside Vet Physio for their continued support.Pictured back, from left, are: Andy Horn (coach), Keith Monk, Harlee Oltai, Olivia Oxborough, Lewis Stannett and Luke Rawlinson (coach).
