Lynn members pit their wits against pros

Golfers from West Norfolk pitted their wits against the club’s two professionals – thanks to the brainchild of King’s Lynn captain Claus Nielsen.Nielsen came up with the idea of a Beat the Pro Challenge, which was played earlier this month before Kale Heath and Jack Yule head off on Tour for the season’s golf around the world.The idea was two-fold: to raise funds for Club 25 and raise the profile of the club’s rising stars, Heath and Yule to the club’s membership and give the membership an opportunity to play with a Tour Professional.The format decided was Texas scramble for the amateurs, all having three attempts to beat the Pro on each shot made and the winning score of 63 gross 59.9 net.This left the pros scratching their heads on how they can shoot such a score of 13 under par.Lynn Golf Club’s Yule was joint leader with a 64 at the end of day one of the UAE Championship on the Clutch Pro Tour in Abu Dhabi last week.He was tied second at 8 under par after two rounds and eventually finished joint sixth – just two shots behind eventual winner Callum Farr – after posting a score of 200 from his three rounds. Heath headed out to join Yule this week in Oman for the next two Clutch Pro Tour events.The winning team pictured with the King’s Lynn Golf Club professionals.
