The Firefite Boxing League events will continue to get bigger and better.
That’s the promise of organiser Damien Pearl following the second show, held at Skaters, in Walpole Highway, on Saturday night.
Fight fans were treated to an explosive night of action with an impressive 17 bouts and a number of West Norfolk fighters were in action.
DPBoxing club head coach Pearl said: “All available tickets were sold out. This achievement was reached in spite of the fact that council restrictions limited the number of spectators who could attend, capping our audience at 340.
“The turnout, therefore, was not reflective of a dip in the event’s popularity but rather a result of these imposed limitations.
“We continue to take lessons from each event, constantly refining and adjusting our approach to guarantee an ever-improving experience for all involved.
“While external factors meant we could not surpass our previous attendance figures, the event was a sell-out success, proving the enduring appeal of the Firefite Boxing League.
“The dedication and excitement of our audience, combined with our commitment to continuous improvement, leave us anticipating even greater achievements in the future.”
“We have ambitious plans to expand our events going forward, aspiring to open up more channels and broaden our reach.
“We firmly believe in the positive impact boxing can have on individuals and communities.
“This sport is not only an exciting spectacle but also a transformative tool that can greatly improve people’s lives.”
The standout fight of an action-packed evening was the thrilling five-round showdown for the Super Welterweight title between Naz Uddin and Mitchell Anderson.
Both fighters displayed immense heart and commitment, having had to overcome illness during their respective training camps.
Anderson, from the Motiv8 gym, managed to secure a points decision victory, but Uddin demonstrated the heart of a warrior, making himself and his team incredibly proud.
The whole night was filled with explosive fights and an electric atmosphere, but the main event was undoubtedly the highlight, setting the bar high for future events.
Pearl praised every fighter who stepped into the ring.
“Every fighter who stepped into the ring that night should feel immensely proud,” he said.
“Boxing is a demanding sport that requires courage, discipline, and immense physical and mental strength.
“Each of the fighters showcased these qualities in spades, providing an unforgettable evening of entertainment.
“From the first bout to the last, every boxer demonstrated their dedication and resilience, making each fight a highlight in its own right.
“Whether it was their debut or they were returning veterans, each fighter contributed to the electric atmosphere and the success of the event.
“The Firefite Boxing League is not just about the title fights or main events but about every individual who dares to step into the ring.
“It is their passion, their determination, and their skill that truly make these events special.”
Thanks goes to events management company Ashley Duncan and his team for the sound lighting and DJ.
