Linnets on the road and looking for first win

The Linnets travel to Chester on Saturday, with both sides looking to register their first wins of the season.

Mark Hughes’ side were held to a 2-2 draw in an absorbing affair against Hereford at The Walks on the opening day, whilst Chester were defeated 2-0 in a surprise result away to newly promoted Bishop’s Stortford.

In the Linnets’ last visit to The Deva Stadium, a blistering first half performance saw them 3-0 up at the break, only to be pegged back in the second half and forced to share the points in a six-goal affair.

The Linnets will be without goalkeeper Tommy Dixon-Hodge who is recovering from a knock picked up against Corby in the Linnets final pre-season encounter.

Lynn’s midweek game is another away fixture at Curzon Ashton on Tuesday night.

While the first team are away at Chester, there is something going on at The Walks this weekend.

Kings Lynn Town Ladies Football Club will host Wroxham in a Norfolk derby on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.
