King’s Lynn Town’s excellent away form means the play-offs are a realistic goal if they can improve in front of their home faithful in the next month. We will know more about Lynn’s true promotion credentials in the next few weeks.Tomorrow’s big six-pointer against Chorley is the first of three tough games at The Walks.Visits from league leaders Scunthorpe United and high-flying Chester are on the horizon, as well as trips to already-relegated Farsley Celtic and struggling Needham, whose fate could already be confirmed by the time Lynn travels to Suffolk on Easter Monday.Lynn’s form on the road this campaign has been good.Adam Lakeland’s side has the fifth-best record in the National League North, bettered only by Scunthorpe, Brackley Town, Curzon Ashton and Kidderminster – all sides above them in the league standings. That’s why they sit eighth in the table, but their home form still needs improving to remain in the promotion picture. Fans have seen glimpses of the team’s capabilities at The Walks against the likes of Warrington Town, Buxton, Kidderminster and Brackley – and it’s that type of form required now if they are to clinch a top-seven berth come April 26. Lynn are tenth in the form table on their own patch, having dropped 25 points with some frustrating displays against Farsley Celtic, Needham and Hereford. They will take on fifth-placed Chorley in another tough game, with the Magpies no doubt buoyed by their 4-0 win over Spennymoor last weekend.Andy Preece’s side come into this match two points and two places above Lynn in the league table but with only two points from their last six away games. A big home performance and three points will put eighth-placed Lynn in an excellent position and move them above the Magpies in the league table. And if other results go in their favour, Lakeland’s side could be sitting pretty in fifth spot come Saturday evening. It’s hard to say exactly what is required to seal their place in the play-offs, but 10 to 11 points from their last five matches should be enough to leave Lynn in the mix come the end of the season.Meanwhile, Rochdale have recalled Finlay Armstrong from his loan spell with Lynn. Joining The Walks outfit on January 25, Armstrong made 10 appearances. The defender was an unused substitute during Rochdale’s 1-1 draw at Woking in the National League on Tuesday night.Elsewhere this weekend, Downham Town host Thetford Town and Fakenham Town entertain Kirkley and Pakefield in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division. In the First Division North, Swaffham Town host Parson Drove.
