King’s Lynn Town ladies have a new manager after Grant Palmer was unveiled as the team’s new boss last week.

Palmer is a UEFA B coach and brings a wealth of experience, having worked in women’s and girls’ football for 16 years.

As well as coaching and management, Grant has held football consultancy roles for AFC Basildon (now Hashtag United), London Bees, Leyton Orient and Changing Lives, using his experience in the game to develop and enhance their women’s football model on and off the pitch.

Palmer has experience at National League, Eastern Regional Premier and South, and County levels (women and girls).

Following his appointment at The Walks, Palmer said: “After speaking with the chairman there was a clear ambition and desire to succeed by supporting the growth of the Women’s team.

“Kings Lynn are a sleeping giant of women’s football with the framework on and off the pitch to play at a higher level.

‘Women’s football in Norfolk is developing at pace and I want Kings Lynn to be at the forefront of that in all areas of the club.

“I am excited about the potential at the club and can’t wait to start working with the team to build on the excellent platform in place.

“I am delighted to be working with the club and developing the team to achieve success.

“The vision for the women’s team drew me to the club and I can use my experience to support and develop the team to realise those ambitions”

Chairman Stephen Cleeve said “I’m delighted that Grant has joined and I am looking forward to watching the ladies’ progression with him in charge.”

The ladies came together to celebrate their 2022/23 season in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division at a presentation night.

The evening was presented by former boss Michael Allesbrook and captain Jodie Hopkins.
